HomeOur experienceMechanical

Working in the heavy construction market has given J.F. White experience in the area of wastewater and water treatment facilities. Our Mechanical capabilities have grown out of that experience. Combining civil resources with mechanical and electrical expertise under one contractor is unique, and in turn allows us to deliver a well-managed and cost effective service to our public clients like the MWRA at facilities like Deer Island.

In addition to our plant capabilities, our Mechanical group has worked on pipefitter work in public buildings. We have served as the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning subcontractor in buildings including Massachusetts State House, Boston City Hall, Suffolk County Jail, Terminal E at Logan Airport and Massachusetts State Labs in Jamaica Plain. Working for agencies such as DCAMM and City of Boston, we have been able to manage and execute successful building projects.

Math and Science Building HVAC Renovation

J.F. White worked directly for North Shore Community College on this renovation project. The building serves as the Math and Science Center at their Danvers campus and is one of three major buildings on campus. The building was originally a factory that was converted to classrooms. Laboratory space, classrooms, and common areas needed a new HVAC system.

Robert W. Healy Public Safety HVAC

J.F. White worked directly with the City of Cambridge on this Public Safety Building renovation. Because this was an active building, we needed to coordinate our work around the needs of the building’s occupants. The building combines police, fire, and related public safety under one roof. Good communication and planning helped us be successful throughout the life of the project.

Terminal E Modernization Mechanical

The Massachusetts Port Authority set out to renovate, modernize, and expand their international terminal, Terminal E. The terminal is an architectural gem, setting a striking silhouette on the skyline of Boston’s Logan Airport along with offering its passengers an upgraded facility. Suffolk Construction served as the Construction Manager. J.F. White had multiple projects throughout the construction program. The work was built in phases and required extensive coordination among trades.
