Working in and around Boston for much of our history, J.F. White has developed the capability of working on the local waterways of New England. Specialized equipment such as floats, work boats and barges have provided better access for our crews. Utilizing our experienced management staff and craft people has enabled us to work on specialty bridges, coordinate material and equipment movements, and build waterfront access.

Most important projects per specialty

Broad Canal Walkway

The construction of a pile supported walkway over the Broad Canal and the installation of a floating dock with an aluminum gangway. The walkway consist of pipe pile supported bents with a wide flange pile cap beam, heavy timber framing including timber edge stringers and timber interior stringers as well as three inch timber decking. Architectural aluminum handrail and overhead lighting were also installed.

Encore Boston Waterfront

To improve the casino shoreline, installation of a marine bulkhead, load transfer platform, precast wharf, living shoreline and dock system were constructed. Demolition and removal of existing obstructions along the shoreline included old bulkheads, granite walls, timber platforms and piles.

Lovejoy & Tudor Wharf Reconstruction

The CA/T park project consisted of pile supported timber and precast/cast in place river walkways under each side of the North Washington Bridge. Additionally, a park was built along with a tennis court.
Speen Street

Speen Street Culvert Emergency Repair

This contract consisted of the removal and replacement of a 100 year old double barrel stone arch culvert that was partially collapsed. The culvert ran under Speen Street in Natick, MA. The new culvert was designed for a 100 year service life.
